Placing Sod Orders

Please call our office at 1-800-377-1421 to place sod order. We do not accept sod orders via email, texting, or social media platforms due to scheduling coordination, prepayment requirements, square footage measurement confirmation and potential weather conditions. We most certainly answer generalized questions through these platforms.

All sod orders, regardless of size, are freshly harvested prior to customer’s pick-up or delivery day and time. All orders require prepayment prior to going on schedule for harvesting . We request that you call so we may physically speak with the customer for ease of scheduling coordination and to confirm square footage requirements along with providing instructions for arriving at farm if picking-up sod. If a delivery is requested, this allows us to obtain specific details from the customer.

We do our best to accommodate customer’s delivery or farm pick-up request date while keeping in mind of other orders already on our schedule.

Visiting Farm

Since we are a sod farm, we do not have pallets of pre-harvested sod sitting around and drying out. Clegg & Sons’ Farms, LLC ONLY sells farm fresh harvested sod prior to customer’s arranged pick-up or delivery day. This way, you will know when you pick up your sod or we deliver, you are receiving farm fresh sod! We are a privately-owned farming operation and do not have a retail store front. Therefore, any visits to the farm require an appointment for viewing the sod field or picking up sod orders.

ARRIVING AT FARM INSTRUCTIONS: Traveling West on 950N, right past the small farmhouse with green siding, there is a large 30-foot gravel drive before the start of the sod field. Please pull in and proceed to the turnaround area to get sod order loaded.

Paying for Sod

All orders must be paid before harvesting sod. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express are accepted methods of payment. Our customers are immediately electronically sent a receipt via email or text.

If paying by cash, arrangements need to be made prior to harvesting sod.

Our Sod and How it is Sold

Currently, the sod we are harvesting, is a premium Fescue and Bluegrass seed blend. We have both netted and unnetted sod. Our sod is considered a cool season turf.

We sell sod in both slabs and rolls.

Each of our slabs are 18 inches wide by 26 inches long. This equates to each slab measuring approximately 3 ¼ sqft. The slabs are roughly a 1/3 of the weight of the rolls. Please note, slabs are not always available. You will need to to inquire which harvesters are currently on the field.

Each of our rolls are 2 feet wide by 5 feet long. This equates to each roll measuring approximately 10 sqft.

**If laying sod down in the summer months, more watering is necessary. Please see our recommendation at the following link: Sod Watering Guide

  • Full Pallet of Sod ROLLS (approximately 600 sqft)

Sod Installation

Price varies depending on necessary work to prepare ground for sod installation. Please call our office to discuss and schedule a time for us to come take a look at your project. We require that we physically view the property so we can provide an exact quote to include measuring the area to be sodded. We will provide a verbal quote when we meet so you have the pricing. We will follow-up with a written quote that matches what we verbally discussed. We can provide the written quote via email so you receive the same day or we can send via US Postal mail if that is the customer’s preference.
